Our May community litter cleanup is happening this Saturday! Did you know that Grant County has an air quality monitoring network? Visit air-wise.org to view live air quality data from a sensor near YOU. Air quality is worse when there are lots of tiny particulates in the wind. These particles come from wildfire smoke, vehicle emissions, and even microplastics and are small enough to travel deep into our lungs. Protect your health by checking the Air Quaity Index before you play or work outside and protect our community by joining a litter cleanup this Saturday! #SilverCityProud #NMCleanAndBeautiful #BreakingBadHabits #KeepLitterOut #AirQualityAwareness

Only 3 more days until our May community litter cleanup! This month, we're highlighting Air Quality Awareness Week. Trash left out in the elements degrades, breaking down into small pieces when exposed to harsh sunlight, rain, and wind. These tiny particles pollute our soils, water, and even float in the air, polluting the air we breathe. We can protect our health and the health of our environment by picking up litter and taking it to our local landfill. Join us for our Saturday cleanup and see the impact we can have when we work together! #SilverCityProud #NMCleanAndBeautiful #BreakingBadHabits #KeepLitterOut #AirQualityAwareness
