About Us

The Silver City Watershed Keepers is a volunteer watershed stewardship program coordinated by the Gila Resources Information Project (GRIP). Volunteers generously donate their time, talents and experience to protect our local Silver City watershed through environmental quality monitoring, restoration, outreach, and education. Our efforts engage volunteers in data collection, litter cleanups, and restoration projects that build community stewardship of our watershed.

The Silver City Watershed Keepers was created in 2010 as part of the Office of Surface Mining/Volunteers in Service to America (OSM/VISTA)’s Western Hardrock Watershed Team (WHWT) four-year grant program, which was awarded to GRIP (2010-2014). The program is now coordinated by GRIP’s Silver City Watershed Keepers coordinator and partially funded by the generous support of the Lineberry Foundation.
